The University of Mysore has awarded post-graduate and doctorate degrees at its 89th Annual Convocation. Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman, University Grants Commission, New Delhi, delivered the convocation address. The University also conferred honorary doctorate degrees on Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Chief Justice of India (LL.D), Dr. R.K. Sinha, Scientist, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (D.Sc), Playback singer S. Janaki (D.Litt), Prof. B. Sheikh Ali, former Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore and Goa Universities (D.Litt) and Prof. G.K. Chadha, CEO, South Asian University, New Delhi (D.Litt).
