Ace director Mani Ratnam is gradually recovering and has resumed work. Cources close to him say the director is upset with some media reports claiming the director wants to shoot his next film in Sri Lanka. Actually, Mani never wanted to shoot there because of the atrocities being committed aginst Tamils; he had never sought any support or help from the Sri Lankan government either.

The entire cast and crew, including Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, had to adjust their schedule because of Mani’s illness. His doctors have advised him to take rest; at the moment, about 70% of the Ravan shoot has been completed. In the meanwhle, word has got out that he is ready with another script, a village-based love story tentatively titled Rukmani.
