The film industry from Bollywood to Tollywood to Kollywood is reeling under the effects of piracy. The piracy has reached monstrous proportions and it is not just the audio but the entire film is being pirated within two days of its release. It is now common for new film CDs to hit the market within 48 hours of its release.
The film industry is at a loss to find effective ways to curb this menace. The government is taking some measures but then they have hardly been effective in curbing the menace. A few thousand pirated CDs are seized from time to time but then that will not solve the big problem.
Film actors and directors and musicians have been appealing people not to encourage piracy and desist from buying pirated CDs. Priyamani made an appeal to all her fans not to buy pirated CDs of her films. She has asked her fans to watch her on the big screen at cinemas only.
