Vijayanthi IPS, one of the most famous movies of Vijayashanthi, earned her the title ’Lady Superstar’. This movie, which released nearly 18 years ago, is now being remade in Tamil and Telugu with Sneha playing the lead role. The remake, titled Bhavani, is produced by Sri Movie Makers. G. Kicha is the director. His earlier movies include Nanbhanin Kathali, Thangam and Thee. Sneha plays the honest and brave police officer for the first time after having done family-oriented characters in Autograph, Parthiban Kanavu and Pirivom Santhipom.
When G. Kicha approached Sneha to play the role of Vijayashanthi in the remake, she was thrilled and accepted the offer with just one condition. Sneha told Kicha clearly that she would do the fights without a dupe. Kicha and the producer tried to make her realize the risks involved, but when Sneha expressed total confidence, they agreed. Sneha has been exercising a lot since then and now fits the title role to a ’T’. Kicha, respecting Sneha’s desire to shoot the fight sequences without a dupe, planned such scenes only in the second schedule which took place at Hyderabad, thus giving her time to exercise and ready herself for the tough fights she would have to display. Thalapathy Dhinesh, who choreographed the stunts, is all praise of Sneha for taking a lot of risks to perform those daredevil stunts.
Sampath of Saroja fame has an important role to play in Bhavani along with Sneha. Vivek dons the role of a police officer after his recent hit comedy Pasupathy. Kotta Seenivasa Rao, Rajkapoor, Ilavarasu, Aaryan, Ponnambalam, Vanitha, G.R. are also part of the cast. Bhavani is being shot currently in Chennai, Hyderabad, Tenkasi, Kuttralam, Ambasamudram and nearby areas. Dhina composes the music and lyrics are by Piraisudan and Yugabharathy.
