The Malayalam film ‘Apoorva’, which was directed by the 18-year old Nithin Ramakrishnan, is all set to become ‘Kathal Thozhi’ in Tamil, our sources say.The young director, who is also writing the story and screenplay for the film, has already commenced shoot for this re-make at Ooty and Coonoor. Produced by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Ramamurthy’s Sree Saravanabhava Moves, ‘Kathal Thozhi’ will have in lead roles Satish (whose debut film ‘Kulir 100 Degrees’ is getting ready for release) and newcomer Archana. Vimala Raman, Kalabhavan Mani and Senthil, who were there in the original, would be part of ‘Kathal Thozhi’ too.
The film focuses on teenage love and has as central characters a bunch of plus two students. Ratan Chandrasekar is the dialogue-writer while V.Tashi scores the music. Thanu Karthick, Uma Subramaniam, Nellai Bharathi and Murugan Manthiram pen the lyrics.
